G enerally when May comes, it has slowed down to a reasonable amount of traffic on the
roads and there aren’t lines at most of the restaurants in Naples. Most of the residents that
are here year round, look forward to coming out and enjoying some of the things Naples
has to offer. Crayton Cove is a great area to visit any time of the year. During the Naples
City Fest, they host a signature event called “Palette To Palate,” Tuesday May 10 from 5:30 - 8:30
p.m., where the restaurants; Bleu Provence, The Dock at Crayton Cove and Chez Boët, offer discounts

on their food and drinks, and the Galleries Of Crayton Cove;
Phil Fisher Gallery, Random Acts of Art, Vintage Charm, Nora
Butler Design & Gallery, The Naples Ships Store and Guess-
Fisher Gallery are open and welcoming the public to meet the
artists and see some demonstrations, such as Natalie Guess,
showing how Batik on fabric, is done. The event starts at The
Cove Inn lobby where guests pick up a map and a complimentary
glass of wine.

Also, during the week of City Fest, Crayton Cove features the
40th Great Dock Canoe Race, (which may be the last), Saturday
May 14, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. In cooperative celebration, the
businesses in The Cove will be having a Sidewalk Sale to give
one more reason to come and spend the day by the Bay. That
evening will be the last “Art After Dark” for the season, where the
Galleries of Crayton Cove are open and showing their newest
works by their artists while live music by Acoustically Speaking
filters through the air. Alchemy will be in the Phil Fisher Gallery entertaining those who venture in.
May is Naples History Month, so numerous events focused on the history of our area will be
happening. As Crayton Cove is a strong part of the beginnings of Naples, Phil Fisher Gallery will be
featuring paintings that focus on Naples History as part of this celebration.
Natalie Guess will be featured in a group show titled “Flora & Fauna” at Rookery Bay from June
1 to August 31, 2016. Natalie is known for her work in Batik which she has been doing professionally
for the past 36 years in Naples. Joining her in the show are accomplished fiber artists, Leigh Herndon
and Muffy Gill. This outstanding show will offer views of local subject-matter that interpret familiar
images in “fresh” ways. Contact the United Arts Council or Rookery Bay for further details and hours.
During the summer, many of our galleries and businesses are open shorter hours, so be sure and
visit The Cove Inn lobby which shows works by the Galleries of Crayton Cove 24/7. The Galleries of
Crayton Cove are a professional artist community in Old Naples by the Bay, all within a one-block
