A pril is that month of transition in Naples. A 1 5
number of our “snow birds” start their trek back 6
north and things around town feel busy at the 2
first of the month then start to slow down or
even “drop off ” after Easter has passed. If life kept you so 3
busy that you weren’t able to make your way to Crayton
Cove and take a relaxing walk out on the Naples City 4
Dock and stroll the numerous Galleries of Crayton Cove
or maybe grab a bite or full meal at one of the amazing 1. Fisher, 8th Avenue South Beach
restaurants, be sure to put that on your schedule this 2. Fisher, A New Dawn
month. This area is a gem that boasts Naples’ history and 3. Fisher, As The Fog Lifts
has held on to that “laid back” feeling that Naples used to 4. Fisher, Sunrise Swim
have a lot of, before it grew so much in the past 20 years. 5. Guess, Early Morning Crayton Cove
6. Fisher, Morning Wind
The evening of April 9, from 6 - 9 p.m., Phil
Fisher Gallery & Guess-Fisher Gallery host an artist
reception for their show titled, “Our Beautiful Beach,”
which features works by well-known Naples artists Phil
Fisher and Natalie Guess. Phil is most known for his
Watercolors and Oils of the Naples area and Natalie
works in Batik on silk, created as fine art. Come and see
some of their newest paintings while getting a chance
to meet them and enjoy live music by Alchemy. Be sure
and stop in the Cove Inn and see a show of the samples
of art represented in each of the galleries located around
the flagpole, which is open for viewing 24/7. They are a
great place to book a room and enjoy a “stay on the Bay,”
as well.
We offer a great mix of fine restaurants; Bleu Provence,
Chez Boët and The Dock at Crayton Cove, as well as
breakfast at the Cove Inn Café or casual Italian fare at
Napoli’s On The Bay. The businesses and galleries cover
the bases for “art you can live with;” Phil Fisher Gallery,
Random Acts of Art, Nora Butler Design & Gallery,
Vintage Charm (a European Style Gallery), Earth & Fire
(paint your own pottery), Naples Ships Store and Guess-
Fisher Gallery. There are numerous charter boats available
at the Naples City Dock, as well.
A favorite event that takes place the second
Saturday of each month is Art After Dark where all
the galleries, restaurants and businesses are open and
welcoming the public to visit their establishments on
a comfortable evening. This month’s event is April 9
from 6 - 9 p.m.. Come and enjoy the festivities with
the Galleries of Crayton Cove, a professional artist
community in Old Naples by the Bay, all within a
one-block walk, by the flagpole where 8th Street
South & 12th Avenue South meet.
