Discover Naples

T his is a great time to get out and discover Naples! The roads
are easier to navigate so we can travel to those areas that we
haven’t been able to experience during the winter months
unless we had visitors that encouraged “checking out the
sites.” We’ve seen a lot of things changing peripherally while going
about life and now we can see what these changes are all about.
Historically, Naples is always changing, but some areas have held
onto the original character of Naples and added some charm as it
has transitioned to hold its own. Crayton Cove is just such an area.

During these “shoulder season” months, this charming business
community offers a number of activities to entice you to spend time
by the Naples City Dock. During City Fest, Crayton Cove has an
event called “Palette to Palate” where the galleries and restaurants
are open and offering special food and drink prices and special artist demonstrations for the
public to enjoy while live music fills the air. Saturday, May 9th, the historic Great Dock Canoe
Race activates the Cove during the day with this wonderful fundraising event that pulls our
community together to help a local charitable group. This is the 39th year it has taken place
and the theme is “The Hunger Games”, which seems appropriate for the benefitting charity,
Collier Harvest, which helps support thousands of families in Collier County. After a break in
the afternoon, “Art After Dark” jump starts the evening festivities from 6 to 9 p.m., when The
Galleries of Crayton Cove are open and welcoming the public to enjoy a leisurely stroll through
their numerous galleries and studios to view the newest works by these well known Naples artists.
This event is an opportunity to mingle with the artists and others interested in the arts. Some
of the galleries offer live music by some of Naples’ best musicians. Phil Fisher Gallery will host
musicians “Stacey & Guy” which will make for a very festive evening! The Galleries of Crayton
Cove consist of Phil Fisher Gallery, Arsenault Gallery, Earth & Fire, ArtGallery OldNaples2,
Vintage Charm, Random Acts of Art, Naples Ships Store, Nora Butler Designs and Guess-
Fisher Gallery. The Cove Inn lobby hosts an on-going show of works by all the artists featured
in the galleries, as well.

If events aren’t your thing, come and visit Crayton Cove and experience the “laid back”
environment that enticed many of us years ago to make this “paradise” our home, whenever it
 strikes your fancy!

The Galleries of Crayton Cove are a professional artist community in Old Naples by the Bay
 all within a one-block walk.
