16 | NAPLES ART ASSOCIATION
Now, Naples is buzzing, frenetic with movement. Last year was a
record year for tourism in the area and this year our community seems
poised to break that record. We have so much to be proud of, from
our blossoming economy to our fantastic health and well-being to our
beautiful beaches and nearby unique ecosystems. All of it comes from
movement: the movement of people, the movement of oceans and seas,
and the movement of flora and fauna.
22 | NAPLES ZOO
Ever since author Frank L. Baum had Dorothy gasp
“Lions and tigers, and bears, oh my!” on her journey along
the yellow brick road, these iconic animals have become
inseparably linked and anticipated favorites on a zoo visit. As
part of our mission to delight guests, we enjoy sharing both
familiar animals like these as well as inspiring wonder and
appreciation for the natural world by introducing families
to unusual creatures that even today are largely unknown –
including some almost as amazing as flying monkeys.
56 | BAY COLONY GOLF CLUB
Bay Colony Golf Club this season celebrates the grand reopening
of the par 72 18-hole championship course after a monumental
master restoration of the greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, bulkheads
and infrastructure.
Arguably the most comprehensive golf course restoration ever
to be completed in just over six months with a $7.7 million dollar
budget, the Bay Colony Golf Course was completed this past
November within budget, without any assessment to members, and
with a grand reopening delivered in time for the launch of golf season
in Naples.
